A Little More Information on PLR Articles
By sortapundit
While it's more than possible to make a good living in the online world, building websites can be a soul destroying, time consuming business. The effort of writing content, building backlinks and - in recent years - creating a presence in social networks - can really take its toll, and many Internet marketers soon discover that they don't have what it takes to devote what could be thousands of man hours before seeing a single cent in earnings.
It would be nice, then, to be able to allow somebody else to shoulder at least some of the burden while building your online empire. This is where PLR articles come into the picture.
Let's look at a little more information on PLR articles. PLR is an abbreviation of Private Label Rights, and it refers to articles that are written by a third party and sold to a webmaster for his exclusive use.
PLR articles are a great way of quickly bulking up the content of your websites without the effort of writing the articles yourself. For many webmasters this is simply a time saver, but for those who don't have the necessary skills to create relevant, compelling content (if their English skills aren't up to scratch, for instance) the purchase of PLR articles can be something of a necessity.
While PLR articles are a fantastic time saver for put upon webmasters it's important to understand exactly how they can be used. The legal side of using private label content is often rather unclear, and while buyers may believe that they own unconditional rights to a piece of work it may later emerge - perhaps after a seller has filed a complaint or even a lawsuit - that the buyer actually had only limited rights for the reuse and distribution of the work.
While the ins and outs of the legal usage of private label content would be too complex to go into here in any detail, there's one point I'd like to make; a point that many overlook to their cost.
Private Label Rights content can usually be modified by the buyer in any way they desire, and they can put their name on it, call it their own and sell it on to a third party. However, it's important to note that the first buyer - the middleman, if you will - is not usually permitted to sell on the PLR content again under Private Label Rights. The second buyer must the end user of the material. No chains are usually permitted.
In any case, this probably won't be an issue for the vast majority of buyers of PLR articles. Most buyers seek out PLR articles to use on their own sites, and it's only very occasionally that PLR content is then passed onto another buyer.
